Jack Heuer wanted to create a watch for speedway racers that was easy to look at, resistant to the shocks of racing, and surprisingly durable. Then, the famous Carerra is the model that combines car racing with sports and has become the identity and inlay of the Tag Heuer brand. Jack Heuer named the collection after the Carrera Panamericana, the most dangerous race held in Mexico from 1950 to 1954. In 1970, a motor sports fanatic, he gave all the drivers of the Ferrari team solid gold Carrera 1158 models as a gift, and on the back cover of each watch, the blood type of each athlete was written. Because motor sports are very dangerous for the life and health of the athlete, this idea was conceived so that in case of an emergency, the rescue team can identify the athlete’s blood type without any doubt and provide immediate help. TAG Heuer’s Carrera Heuer 01 movement was introduced in 2015 and is a very important chrono model of the TAG Heuer manufacture.
